Dorothy Lee had a vision to have her own restaurant and her husband Robert went along with it and supports her 100%.
Lee's Cafe in downtown Lubbock is where it all started in January 2014 at 1101 Main St. This location grew to a size double of what it started. This site closed on August 16, 2019 to concentrate on opening a new seafood concept restaurant.
The next step was a second location on 34th St and it opened at 4919 34th St on November 26, 2018. Lee's Cafe is a down home soul food restaurant that serves a variety of foods for several tastes.
Dorothy and Robert love seafood and wanted to develop a special perspective to the seafood taste brought from New Orleans and the Dallas market. They opened Royal Seafood Shack at 6012 82nd St. This location opened November 20, 2019. The flavors brought such a following that they quickly outgrew this location. Dorothy and Robert started looking for a larger location and wanted to combine the tatstes of Lee's Cafe and Royal Seafood Shack into one location. This adventure would require closing the 34th Street location.
Royal Seafood Shack by Lee's Cafe opened at the Milwaukee Street location on January 19, 2021. The 82nd Street location closed and now everything would be located at the new address.
Dorothy doesn't like to sit still. She now wanted a restuarant to concentrate on her special chicken recipe. Dorothy and Robert decided to use the 82nd St location for this new endeavor. They remodeled and expanded this location to more than double the size. On September 1, 2021, Bucket of love opened with a new concept for the Lubbock area.
